Muhammad Shafi Online Academy is an online institute dedicated to teaching the Quran and the Arabic language with sincerity, accuracy and care. Founded on the belief that every Muslim, young or old, deserves a qualified teacher who gives them personal attention, the Academy brings the classroom of a traditional madrasa into your home through live online lessons.

Our students range from four-year-olds beginning with the Qaida to professionals and parents who want to finally understand what they recite in prayer. Whether you are in Lahore, Dubai, London or Toronto, you receive the same structured curriculum, the same qualified teachers and the same personal follow-up.

All programs are designed and personally supervised by Abdul Wahab, who leads every department and reviews every student's progress. Because the Academy is small by design, no student is ever just a name on a list.

Students usually begin in the Quran Department and move into Arabic and then Translation & Tafsir. Adults who already read the Quran can join any department directly.

Quran Program (Nazira)

قرآنِ مجید ناظرہ

For children and adults starting from the beginning. Students learn the Arabic letters, joining and vowels through the Noorani Qaida, then move to reading the Quran fluently with correct pronunciation of every letter.

For students who can already read the Quran and want to recite it exactly as it was revealed. Rules are taught with practical recitation in every class, so theory and practice grow together.

A complete Arabic language course for those who want to read, write, speak and understand Arabic. Grammar (Nahw and Sarf) is taught through real sentences, texts and conversation rather than dry rules.

Focused on the Arabic of the Quran itself. Students learn the most frequent Quranic words and grammar patterns so they begin to understand Salah, Juz Amma and daily recitation directly, without waiting for a translation.

A word-by-word and sentence-by-sentence translation of the entire Quran, taught in Urdu or English. Students follow the Arabic text closely so vocabulary and meaning are absorbed together.

2-Year Arabic Diploma

A structured two-year path to reading Arabic with confidence

Four semesters of six months each. The diploma combines the Arabic Language, Quranic Arabic and Translation programs into one complete, certified pathway.

The diploma is designed for serious learners: students who want to move from zero Arabic to reading the Quran, Hadith and classical texts with understanding. Classes run three to five days a week, with written homework, monthly tests and a semester examination.

Head Teacher & Academic Supervisor

Abdul Wahab manages every program at the Academy and personally teaches the Arabic, Translation and Tafsir classes. A graduate of the traditional Dars-e-Nizami curriculum with specialisation in Ifta, he combines classical scholarship with a patient, modern approach to online teaching.

He believes that the Quran should be taught with love before rules, and that a student who feels comfortable asking questions learns twice as fast. Assisting teachers for children's Nazira and Tajweed classes are trained and selected by him, and he reviews the progress of every student each month.

Live, not recordedEvery class is a live session on Zoom, Google Meet or WhatsApp video, with the teacher listening and correcting in real time.

Listen, repeat, correctQuran classes follow the traditional method: the teacher recites, the student repeats, and mistakes are corrected immediately.

Small groups, full attentionGroup classes never exceed five students, so each student recites and is heard in every lesson.

Assessment & Examination

How progress is measured

Free placement assessmentBefore enrolment, a short 15-minute session on WhatsApp video determines the student's current level and the right program.

Daily lesson checkEvery class begins with revision of the previous lesson. Quran students recite; Arabic students are quizzed on vocabulary and grammar.

Monthly testAn oral or written test at the end of each month, with a short report sent to the student or parent on WhatsApp.

Semester examinationArabic Diploma and Translation students sit a written and oral examination every six months, graded by Abdul Wahab.

Final assessmentOn completion of a program the student is examined on the full syllabus before a certificate is issued.

Common Questions

Before you message us

Which app is used for classes?

Zoom or Google Meet for most classes. WhatsApp video call is also available for one-to-one Quran classes if that is easier for you.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new student receives a free assessment and a free trial class before any fee is paid.

What is the minimum age?

Children can start the Noorani Qaida from around four years old. Arabic and Translation programs are best from twelve years and above.

Are there female teachers for girls and ladies?

Yes. Qualified female teachers are available for Nazira and Tajweed classes on request. Please mention this in your first message.

What if I miss a class?

Inform us in advance on WhatsApp and a make-up class is arranged, usually on Sunday. Classes missed without notice are not made up.

How do I pay from abroad?

Bank transfer, Payoneer, Wise and other methods are available. The exact method is agreed on WhatsApp after your trial class.

Can I switch from group to one-to-one later?

Yes, at the start of any month. Simply send a message and your package will be updated.

Do you teach in English?

Yes. Classes and communication are available in both Urdu and English, depending on the student's preference.
